Introduction to Youth Ministry Course
The Introduction to Youth Ministry Course is a three-day formation experience designed for young adults who wish to begin or deepen their journey in youth leadership and ministry. Through interactive sessions, practical exercises, reflection, and group discussion, participants will explore the identity of a youth leader, the values and boundaries that shape healthy leadership, and practical skills for accompanying young people in today’s world. This course aims to form leaders who are not only capable of organizing activities, but who are also compassionate, responsible, and spiritually grounded mentors for youth.
Throughout the course, participants will engage with topics such as authentic leadership, understanding the inner world and needs of young people, ethical leadership, healthy boundaries, and how to create meaningful youth meetings that respond to real-life struggles and aspirations. Special emphasis will be placed on self-awareness, servant leadership, and learning how to guide young people with empathy, wisdom, and integrity. The course is ideal for new youth leaders, animators, catechists, and anyone passionate about accompanying young people in faith and life. Individuals born in 2009 or before can apply.
The course will take place from the 1st to the 3rd of September, running daily from 10:00am to 1:00pm (3 hours each day). It will be conducted by Fr Mark Bonello, who has pursued specialized studies in Youth Ministry at the Università Pontificia Salesiana, bringing both academic formation and practical pastoral experience in accompanying young people. This course offers a valuable opportunity for participants to grow in confidence, vision, and leadership as they prepare to serve youth in meaningful and transformative ways. The venue of this course will be announced later.
